🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Anger About Size Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Reaction Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Updates Previously, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
